pentax K200D Overpriced and Under Featured
Let’s see this camera is already available for preorder at amazon for $699.95. But seriously why would one buy it. I suppose pentax is trying to aim this at the point and shoot need lot’s o’ hand holding crowd. They go on about it’s ease of use and small size. It’s hard to say whether the photographs will be any good because God only knows when some comprehensive DPreview like review will come out measuring the actual quality of the imaging. It shares it’s sensor with the K200d which can be had sans external flash for only 599.99. DPreview liked the image quality of the K200D when shooting in RAW mode which is not what I assume your average point and shooter does. But It does not have a live mode which I would think is essential to any decent digital SLR. But hey it’s small right? well it’s not as small as the olympus 420 which comes with live view and that neat pancake lens for only $641.10
