I got one of them job dealies so now I can get a new camera
I’m gonna get the Canon EOS 5D Mark II
(Here’s The Ultimate Resource For This Camera)
It’s pretty much the best camera currently on the
market though it actually does not ship till December.
You might say but hey maury dude what about the
Well That one does have a better autofocus
And then there is a ruggedness issue but the picture quality should be better given the new processor
But as far as picture quality goes(Wich is all that I care about as I only shoot completely manually(Including focus) Well here’s what canon had to say
Some professional users have expressed concern about the fact that the 5D Mark II offers the same resolution and a more modern processor than the EOS-1Ds Mark III, making the 1Ds Mark III seem a little dated. What are your thoughts on the relative positioning of the two products?
“That’s a very good question. The 5D Mark II we’re positioning as the very highest product in our high-end enthusiast range. The EOS 1Ds Mark III, by comparison, offers robust durability and long shutter life as the most important features for use in harsh studio conditions, we believe. However when it comes to image quality itself; because of the constant digital technology developments in this industry, it’s always the latest camera that is best. So things like ISO expansion range and dynamic range are in a sense better in the 5D Mark II.”
And the Canon EOS 5D Mark II has HD video capabilities that are actually quite stunning, not a half-baked afterthought like in the Nikon D90
“Meanwhile Canon shoots video in the 5DMKII using 1080P HD standard at 30 FPS. This is the top 1920 X 1080 resolution, roughly twice the resolution of 720P. Find out more about all of these standards and jargon in my recent tutorial titled Understanding Video.
Interestingly, not only is the 5D MKII the first DSLR to shoot the higher resolution 1080P format, but it does so using the latest H264 codec. This is the current state of the art in video compression, offering the highest compression along with the best image quality.”
And since the Mark III has two Digic III processors It can shoot at five frames a second
but the mark II with it’s single newer Digic 4 processor can do 3.9
That’s 3.9 14 bit (5616 x 3744) (21.0 MP) photo’s in a second.
well anyway they say it shipping in december though everyone currently seems out of stock of the preorders?
